About the NFSA

South Africa's National Food Safety Association (NFSA) was established in 2010 as a non-profit NGO. The structure of the NFSA provides a representative and equitable partnership among regulators, industry, academia, professional organisations and consumers to identify problems, formulate recommendations, and develop and implement practices that ensure food safety. Working together enhances the quality of our food supply, i.e. promoting food safety through collaboration. The highlight each year is the NFSA national meeting to provide that forum.

The aforementioned structure was ‘adopted’ from the U.S. based Conference for Food Protection.
